With the hand of God upon his life from childhood, with the wisdom of God, his parents began to instruct him in the ways of the Lord. It was there where he received his ministerial license in 1978 under the leadership of the late Pastor Sebba Bailey and Supt. J. W. Mayfield. Where he worked as youth leader, choir director, YPWW youth leader under Pastor Sebba Bailey of the Greater Jubilee C. O. G. I. C. until his demise.

Elder Bailey later joined Gospel Memorial C. O. G. I. C. in 1980 as an associate minister under the leadership of Pastor Joe L. Ealy. In 1990 he was ordained as Elder, the Lord began to bless his ministry as he served faithfully under, now Bishop Joe L. Ealy for over 37 years.
